It started with Hunter and Olive — Steven’s two dogs, and the whole reason any of this exists. Like a lot of dog parents, he started reading ingredient labels and didn’t love what he found: fillers, by-products, and words he couldn’t pronounce.

So he set out to find treats he’d feel good handing to his own dogs — natural, human-grade ingredients, made in the USA, with nothing artificial. No fillers, ever.

That instinct runs deep. Steven grew up on a farm, working with animals from a young age — so knowing where food comes from and what’s in it has always mattered to him. Farm-to-table isn’t a trend here; it’s how he was raised.

Today he’s a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and an expert in animal behavior, studying how they act — and he brings that same care and understanding to every bag of treats LLD makes.

Every LLD treat — from the Harvest Meatballs to the biscuits to the soft-chew supplements — is held to that same standard: if it isn’t good enough for Hunter and Olive, it doesn’t make the cut.

LLD Started as Research

As a BCBA, research is what I do for a living: read the data, test what actually works, and don’t settle for opinions dressed up as facts. When I went looking for treats for Hunter and Olive, I did the same thing — read every label, called the companies, asked where every ingredient comes from, and followed up until I got real answers.

Most of what I found didn’t make the cut. What’s on these shelves did. Every product here passed the research first — and then it had to pass two very honest taste-testers who work for treats.

So you don’t have to do any of that homework. We already did it. If it’s at LLD, you don’t even have to wonder if it’s good. You know it’s good.
